Doug has over 35 years of experience in the foodservice industry as a finance consultant to multi-unit restaurant operators and franchise companies and a foodservice equipment manufacturers’ representative, and he has also held various management positions within the casual dining sector. Doug holds the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP), and he is ServSafe Food Protection Manager certified. He is a professional member of Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) and is a member and past chairman of the Council for Professional Standards Committee. He received his BBA from James Madison University and his MBA from Rollins College.

Stephanie Gatewood

Stephanie joined FCS in 2005 as a temporary employee...and still hasn't left! She brought over 10 years of marketing and operations experience to Foodservice Consultants Studio, as well as foodservice operations experience. She is a Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP) and ServSafe Food Protection Manager certified. She is the author of the now out-of-print book, When Peanuts are Poison, which served as a handbook for parents of children newly diagnosed with a peanut allergy. Stephanie obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her MBA from the University of Richmond.

Sabin joined FCS in 2021 and works as our Project Coordinator. She has a wealth of knowledge in Project Management and enjoys working in a team environment. She received her B.S. in Marketing from Virginia Tech and master’s degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Sabin is inspired daily by her husband and their two children. She loves to travel and enjoys volunteering and spending outdoor time with her family.

Melissa Jennings

Senior Designer

Melissa brings over seven years of specialized experience in commercial kitchen design to her role as Senior Foodservice Designer at FCS, which she joined in 2023. As a Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP), Certified Food Protection Manager (ServSafe), and Associate member of the Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI), Melissa combines technical expertise with a passion for creating efficient, welcoming foodservice environments. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design with a minor in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as an associate’s degree in interior design from Tidewater Community College.


Prior to joining FCS, she worked as a lighting consultant, served as a facilities designer, and founded her own residential design company. Her collaborative approach and commitment to clear communication ensure that every project is both functional and inviting, tailored to meet clients’ unique needs.

Amy Hegarty

Amy has 30 years of experience designing commercial kitchens and is a certified interior designer. She is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers and served as Virginia Chapter president and on numerous committees for the organization. Amy is a Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP), a professional member of Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) and ServSafe Food Protection Manager certified. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Jessica Zinckgraf

Jessica joined the FCS team 2021 as Revit Technician and is now our BIM Manager. She received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Jefferson University, Philadelphia where she took courses in Commercial & Residential Interior Design, Building Materials, Construction Documentation, and AutoCAD/Revit. Jessica also spent a semester studying Interior Architecture with DIS in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Michael Mahoney

Michael became a member of the FCS team in 2022. After receiving a B.S. from James Madison University and a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Longwood University Michael worked as a speech therapist in a Richmond-area rehabilitation facility for over four years. He then pivoted towards a career in the construction field, completing a variety of small renovations, new builds, and custom casework. It was in this line of work that Michael gained a greater appreciation for design, high-end materials, and attention to detail. In addition to his hands-on work, he also served as project manager and began learning computer aided drafting.

Larry Huber

Retired

CFSP, FCSI Emeritus

Larry officially retired in 2015 after offering design solutions to the foodservice industry for 51 years. Larry founded Virginia-based Foodservice Consultants Studio in 2000. He was a Certified Foodservice Professional (CFSP), ServSafe Food Protection Manager certified, and was a professional, and now Emeritus, member of Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI). Larry previously sat on FCSI's Board of Trustees and is past chair of the Ethics Committee.


Larry volunteered his services for the US Department of Agriculture, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the Maryland School Nutrition Association, and the School Nutrition Association of Virginia.  He served the School Nutrition Association of Virginia as a member of the Industry Advisory Committee and as a sustaining member.
